Good morning and happy holidays forest creatures,

This is part two of my Cultivating an Urban Cabin Series. This post will focus on the decor aspect of crafting a cabin regardless of if you live in a city or in an actual cabin.

One of the core elements in living in a cabin for me is the fact that you are surrounded by so much peace while being immersed in the natural entropy that is the forest. For me living in a forest, is about cultivating a place where it feels like my own. For that reason, a lot of this post is meant to serve as inspiration and a starting point rather than a detailed guide.

This post is primarily just meant to get you thinking about the core elements of interior decor, which in my mind are: general theme (aesthetic), the color palette, and your tolerance for patterns.

We could go more detailed, but cultivating your space is a huge subject and can’t be done in a single post. So we’ll definitely keep exploring this subject further in future posts.

Finding Your Aesthetic

One of the most important aspects of crafting your space is finding a cohesive look that feels like cabincore to you; but here’s the thing: cabincore is all about finding pieces that don’t exactly match, but compliment each other very well. It’s a fine balance to achieve, but not as hard as you’d think.

To do this, I’m going to break down how to find your aesthetic into steps, then I’ll get into some cool items, that I think would elevate your cabin to the next level.
